Following on the heels of a strong appearance at New York Comic Con, DC released a first look at some of the merchandise they will be releasing to promote the DC Universe’s first installment, December’s Creature Commandos animated series. Hailing from creator James Gunn, the series centers on a group of monsters who are put to work by Amanda Waller, essentially filling the Suicide Squad-shaped hole in her heart after Task Force X gets shut down. With actors who will play the characters across animation and live action, Creature Commandos doesn’t have the same hype behind it as Gunn’s Superman, but it gives fans a first glimpse at how Gunn intends to run his new cinematic universe.

The just-released first look at Creature Commandos merch not only shows off some of the t-shirts and apparel coming to DC’s own shop — where they’re up for preorder now — but also a number of Funko Pops and even a Weasel statue from McFarlane Toys.

The Funko pops, which you can order at the DC store, at Funko.com, or at some of DC’s partner retailers (we haven’t looked, but we’re guessing it’s Amazon and Hot Topic), include figurines based on Eric Frankenstein; The Bride; Weasel; Nina Mazursky; G.I. Robot; and Doctor Phosphorous.

As far as the clothing line goes, DC is double-dipping on things that the fans are excited about in the coming months — and it’s playing out in a kind of fun way. In addition to the first wave of merch for Creature Commandos, DC is leaning hard into a line of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats featuring their classic “bullet” logo, which is being reintroduced this month on comics and as the DC Studios logo.

Some of the t-shirts and mugs and hats just feature the DC bullet, but there’s also a couple of Creature Commandos shirts that feature the characters swarming around the logo itself. Other designs feature “floating heads” around the design of the logo in a way that feels like a retro team-book title page…and floating heads in three columns, not too dissimilar to how it might have appeared in a pre-2000s corner box on a comic book.

In Miller’s announcement post he included a tongue-in-cheek reference to one of the Bat’s most famous villains… a question mark to signify the dastardly Riddler! Not much else is known of the plot, but luckily this sequel-to-a-sequel book is currently slated for a Fall 2025 release, so we don’t have too long to wait before the story continues.

Hasbro’s list of reveals for New York Comic-Con 2024 this past weekend included plenty of Star Wars Black Series and G.I. Joe Classified Series figures, but they certainly didn’t forget about Transformers. The collection includes Studio Series Galvatron, Double Punch, Skywarp, and Hatchet figures from various films and games. The wave also includes crossover figures inspired by Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Naruto Shippuden.

Spawn, Todd McFarlane’s anti-hero from Hell, got a limited-edition 1:10 statue today, bringing to life McFarlane’s historic Spawn #1 cover artwork. Made of resin, this Spawn stands 10-inches tall and includes a hand-drawn number on its base. The statue is currently priced at $449.50, which is shockingly high, but there’s a good chance that it sells out anyway. King Spawn Movie 

While we wait for the limited-edition statue to arrive, Spawn fans will also be looking forward to the new Spawn movie. Todd McFarlane has paired with Blumhouse Productions to bring us a full-length feature film based on the revitalized 2021 version of the character, King Spawn. 

King Spawn takes on the larger mythos of the war between heaven and hell, as Spawn is caught up in the prophecy of King Spawn and the throne of Hell. Spawn’s creator, Todd McFarlane, has been able to combine the larger mythos of the Spawn series (the throne of Hell, God Throne, and the Dead Zones, Wanda Blake’s death) into a grand epic tale. Al Simmons/Spawn has to decide where he stands in the war between ultimate good and evil, from a position of considerable power as a leader. 

Currently, Todd McFarlane has academy-award nominated writer Scott Silver as the lead on the project, promising fans that he’s taking this seriously and he wants movie-going audiences to pay attention. 

Todd also wants us to know that the actors we want will be there. McFarlane said to ComicBook. “We’re bringing on A-list people. Not just one, but multiple A-list people… What they’re not going to want is to do a cheap, low-budget movie with all of these big-name people on it. That’s not why they’re signing up. They’re not looking for a big extravaganza. But, they’re also not looking for an 8 million dollar horror movie budget.

We don’t know exactly when King Spawn will release, but Jason Blum had previously stated he hoped for 2025. So if that’s true, we won’t be waiting too long. With Spawn’s New York City background and fun heroes and villains making up its cast, this film is sure to be a good time.  Warner Bros. had previously released a Spawn movie in 1997, and it did fairly well, doubling its budget and earning $88 million. Unfortunately, it wasn’t well regarded by critics or audiences. With new information and a new cinema landscape, maybe now’s the time that Spawn will reach its international audience.

What Is the Transformers / G.I. Joe Movie About?

Officially announced by Paramount Pictures earlier this year, Transformers / G.I. Joe will finally introduce a live-action crossover between the two iconic Hasbro multimedia lines. The prospect of the crossover was first teased in the ending of 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy are producing, while Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment are executive producers. A director for the film is not currently confirmed.

Speaking to Collider about Transformers One, franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed that the crossover movie with G.I. Joe would be the next live-action movie to come from the world of Transformers:

“Well, we’re going, again, subject to success, we’re going to do a sequel to this, and there will be an animated version, and it will exist completely separately to whatever we do live-action. The next live-action movie will be a crossover,” the producer said. “Where it will be particularly affected is the fact that we now know what these robots are capable of emotionally in a way. So we’re going to have to figure out how to create that room, that we can afford that, and create a story that you can take more advantage of that. So one of the things that I’m particularly interested in doing, and we’re still in the development phase, so nothing is by any means written in stone, but I think we need to do more now from the robot point of view in the live-action because that’s the only way you’re really going to get inside them.”

“Instead of them reacting to humans or reacting to the human plot, what is their drive, has to be part of that story now,” he explained. “So it’s going to be complicated because now the hardest thing about a lot of franchise movies is how many characters there are, and the more characters you try to manage, the harder it is to make a bunch of really good ones. You kind of got to keep going, keep it smaller, keep it smaller. So we’ll be in that process for a while where we’ll start with a bunch of Joes and a bunch of Transformers and I’ll say, regular humans, and then you’re going to do this. That’s kind of where we are right now, is trying to put the larger thing in place. The trick in this one, like we were talking about here, in trying to find that tone and balance is like, ‘Well, how much of the Joes do you want? And how much of the Transformers do you want?’”

One of the Big 3 anime, One Piece, is having a revolution as of late, especially with the Netflix live-action series exceeding expectations. While we await more information about season 2, CASETiFY is ready to gift us with some new One Piece merch. The tech accessories company announced its latest collaboration with the fan-favorite anime would be inspired by the iconic devil fruits of the series. 

According to the press release, CASETiFY uses the fruit designs from the series to create a diverse collection, which includes “3D AirPod accessories as well as a cohesively designed range of products. The latest batch of Crocs based on the Pokemon franchise is now available to order. This morning, four pairs of Classic Clogs were made available, with each one featuring a popular character from the franchise: Charizard, Gengar, Snorlax, and Jigglypuff. All four designs are priced at $69, and can be purchased from the official Crocs website, or through retailers such as Champs and Foot Locker. Each pair of Crocs features a design inspired by the Pokemon’s coloration. They also come with two different Jibbitz of that character, as well as two Jibbitz that have some kind of connection to the Pokemon itself.

The Croc designs should hold a lot of appeal for Pokemon fans. The Charizard Crocs have a pattern meant to evoke the Pokemon’s fiery typing (and personality), while the Jibbitz show Charizard in both standing and flying poses. The Gengar Crocs have a black and purple color, as well as Jibbitz with both a standard pose and one with the Pokemon’s giant tongue hanging out. The Snorlax design has a blue and white swirl effect, with one Jibbitz featuring the Normal-type raising a hand, while the other Jibbitz shows Snorlax’s mouth wide open, ready to feast. Finally, the Jigglypuff designs are pink and white, evoking its Fairy-typing. The Jibbitz designs should appeal to longtime fans of the anime, as one of them shows Jigglypuff holding its iconic microphone marker!

These four Crocs designs are the latest based on the Pokemon franchise, but there are other offerings on the company’s official website. For that same price, fans can also get the existing black and yellow Pikachu design. Pokemon fans that don’t want to buy a whole new pair of Crocs can also deck out their existing footwear. Jibbitz based on several different Pokemon are available for purchase from the official Crocs website, and include popular characters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Psyduck. Each one can be purchased for $4.99. If you aren’t a big fan of the official Croc designs, or the Pokemon that are being offered, it’s a nice way to show your love for the franchise while also spending a little less.

At this time, we don’t know if we can expect any additional Pokemon designs from Crocs, but it will be interesting to see if the company decides to expand its offerings in the future. These aren’t the first Pokemon Crocs that have been offered, but the company has largely stuck to the original 150 Pokemon. It’s possible we could see designs outside of that generation in the future, including popular Pokemon like Lucario or Greninja. It’s even possible we could see some designs themed after new games, like the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A. However, that’s just speculation for the time being, and that could depend on how the current offerings sell!

The LEGO X-Men X-Mansion set has been a pretty poorly kept secret with leaks turning up everywhere in recent days, but today all has been revealed. The LEGO Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion (76294) set just got official with 3,093 pieces, 10 minfigures, a buildable Sentinel, and a price tag of $329.99. What’s more LEGO Insiders will be treated to the LEGO Marvel Cerebro (5009015) set as a gift with their purchase while they last, which probably won’t be long. Here’s everything you need to know.

Naturally, the LEGO X-Mansion set will be packed with details like a Cerebro element, switchable Danger Room items, an exploding cupola, a motorcycle for Wolverine, as well tons of graphical nods to the X-Men franchise. As noted, it will also include a buildable Sentinel and 10 minifigures, 5 of which are all-new for this set. These figures include Professor X in his wheelchair, a new variation of Jean Grey, Gambit, Iceman and Bishop. There’s also Magneto, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Rogue. Now for the really important part. The LEGO Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion Buildable Set will be available first to LEGO Insiders starting on October 31st / November 1st at 9pm PT / 12am ET online here at LEGO. You can sign up for a free LEGO Insiders account right here. It will be available to the general public at the same time and in the same place on November 4th. However, we expect that the LEGO Marvel Cerebro gift set could sell out before the general release, so you’ll want to grab your copy as soon as possible. The LEGO Marvel Cerebro set (5009015) includes a minifigure of Professor Xavier in his wheelchair, a custom-printed “Cerebro” element and a blue transparent component on the console displaying Jubilee.

The Super Powers line specializes in bringing that nostalgic charm back to action figures. From the packaging to the fabric capes each hero wears, this collection of 4.5-inch figures definitely feels like it arrived here straight from the ’80s. 

If you’re new to the Marvel collecting game and need a refresher on who Hourman and Starman are, look no further! Hourman’s real identity is that of chemist Rex Tyler, who created a vitamin so strong that it gave him superpowers! One catch though – it only lasts one hour, hence the name. Starman is also an esteemed scientist. He’s an astronomer that developed a particularly strong Gravity Rod that allows him to gather the power of the stars at his fingertips.

When Does Arcane Season 2 Debut on Netflix?

Originally created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee for production studio Fortiche, in partnership with League of Legends parent company Riot Games, Arcane Season 2 will return in three acts. Act One will begin on November 9th, Act Two debuts on November 16th, Act Three, the final act, will release on November 23rd. So, there’s plenty of time to catch up with the entire first season of the series in the meantime as it’s now available for streaming with Netflix. Starring Ella Purnell as Jinx, Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Reed Shannon as Ekko, and many more, Arcane is teased as such:

“Based on champions and lore from the League of Legends universe, Arcane follows the story of two orphaned sisters, Vi and Powder, as they fight to make a name for themselves in the derelict, underground alleyways of Zaun. Dreaming of a day when they can experience some of the wealth and opulence of the city of Piltover just above them, Vi, Powder, and friends undertake a seemingly simple heist that, unbeknownst to them, will forever alter their destinies and the fate of both cities.”

While Arcane’s second season is billed as its last, this doesn’t mean that this is the end of League of Legends on Netflix. Earlier this year, a co-creator of the beloved animated series, Christian Linke, had the following to say regarding the future of the franchise, “The story of Arcane wraps up with the second season. Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey, and our partnership with the wonderful animation studio in Paris called Fortiche.”

Linke also took the chance to examine the characters of Jinx and Vi, stating how they evolved to heights not foreseen by the original animators, “Their arcs have grown so far beyond our original dreams for them and we want to give the same treatment to more champions. So we’re currently working on our next projects across television and film, and we’re hopeful that we can share more by the end of the year. We’re still really early in the stages of that process, and these things do take a lot of time, but we’d like to share updates with you whenever we can.”

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man anime and manga adaptations have been hugely successful, though it wasn’t until June of this year that Funko finally got around to launching a wave of Pop figures inspired by the franchise. However, the line is going strong with the release of a huge second wave of figures that includes Hiimeno, Kishibe, Kobeni, Samurai Sword, a Deluxe Chainsaw Man, and several exclusives. Among these exclusives is an adorable sleeping Pochita, which could be as popular as the sleeping Godzilla Pop that was released earlier this year. What’s Next for Chainsaw Man? 

Right now, Studio MAPPA is staying busy as Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is in production. The movie, which was announced nearly two years ago, has not updated fans on its status since being outed to fans. In the meantime, Fujimoto has stayed busy with Chainsaw Man part two. The manga is on a hot streak as Denji is facing down two powerful foes, the Aging Devil and the War Devil. Our hero has a target painted on his back, and just when you think the fight is settled, Fujimoto does something that scatters the battlefield in a way we never saw coming.

If you wanted to check out more of Chainsaw Man right now, you can find the newest chapters of the manga with either Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library or Shueisha’s MangaPlus service. If you want to catch up with Chainsaw Man’s first season to get ready for the new movie, you can now find the anime streaming with Crunchyroll and Hulu. They tease the series as follows:

The Live-Action Naruto

Lionsgate announced recently that it would be working with Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton to bring the lovely Hidden Leaf Village to life. The live-action rendition of the popular anime doesn’t have many details out yet, but Cretton has received a very special seal of approval. Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, stated that he was excited to see the new take on his world. We can still wait and see if he’ll take on the Executive Producer role much like Eiichiro Oda did with the One Piece live-action series, but for now, it’s exciting that he’s excited.

Although the future of Naruto is a bit up in the air while we wait on new details for the movie, it’s fantastic to see a new box set hit the shelves. The Naruto fandom looks like it’ll continue to grow for the foreseeable future, and we love that new fans keeping tuning in for the journey of seventh Hokage.

Dune: Part Two from director Denis Villenueve was a massive hit with both critics and audiences, and that extended to the Blu-ray release. The first limited edition 4K Steelbook sold out quickly, but a new (and arguably better) version is now available to pre-order here at Walmart priced at $29.96. It’s also a limited edition, so expect it to sell out as well. Look for it to arrive on November 20th.

Will There Be a Dune 3?

As fans of Herbert’s books know, the grand narrative of Dune extends far beyond the events of the first book — and to an extent, the first two films still leave some things unexplored. For starters, Paul’s efforts to make Arrakis into “paradise” have not been shown, outside of a flash-forward with a now-adult Alia confirming that his plans were a success, and that Arrakis will have water once again in the future. Recently, The Hollywood Reporter shared the news that Villeneuve is in talks to adapt the non-fiction book, Nuclear War: A Scenario. The report also gave a little update about the third Dune. 

“Villeneuve and Legendary are currently developing a third movie in his Dune series that is based on the writings of sci-fi author Frank Herbert. Dune: Part Two, which hit theaters in March from Warner Bros., is currently the year’s highest-grossing film domestically, having surpassed $250 million,” THR wrote. 

“I did both movies back to back, which makes absolute sense for me,” Villeneuve recently shared with Empire Magazine. “I felt that it was a good idea to move forward right after Part One. We were already designing, writing et cetera. But it also meant that for six years I was on Arrakis non-stop, and I think it will be healthy to step back a little bit. First, make sure that we have a strong screenplay. The thing I want to avoid is not having something ready. I never did it, and now I feel it could be dangerous because of the enthusiasm. We need to make sure all the ideas are on paper.”

“If we go back, it needs to be real, it needs to be relevant, if ever I do Dune Messiah, [it’s] because it’s going to be better than Part Two. Otherwise, I don’t do it,” he added. 

What Is Dune: Part Two About?

Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. 

The big-screen epic Dune: Part Two includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux, with Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. Denis Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Frank Herbert‘s iconic novel.

Walmart’s Collector Con drops for NYCC 2024 take place on October 17 and 18 at 10am ET. Again, you’ll be able to get your pre-orders in right here. As you might’ve experienced back in July with the last Walmart Collector Con drop, the battle some of these figures will probably be tough, so if you’re going to participate make sure to get there early and be ready to click. You’ll be able to pre-order many the NYCC 2024 shared exclusive Funko Pops listed below from the Funko Shop starting at 6am PT / 9am ET October 17th. Shared retailers might go live at that time as well, but expect delays. That said, there are a few very important things to keep in mind:

Another very unique Star Wars collectible is on the way from Disney / Lucasfilm, and like the Star Tours StarSpeeder 3000 Vehicle Playset, it will be available in a very limited edition run. The Galactic Archive Series C-3PO Premium Electronic Head will be available starting October 16th at 8am PT / 11am ET right here at The Disney Store complete with lights and sounds as well as a feature that will allow you to reveal Sith secrets like Babu Frik in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. 

Unfortunately, only 3,720 units will be produced priced at $119.99, and if the aforementioned Star Tours playset is anything to go by, there will be a queue at launch and they’ll sell out in the blink of an eye. That said, you’ll find a breakdown of the features below, which should make it clear why you really want to be one of the lucky fans who get to take this home. 

First, there’s a sensor that you can touch that will activate movie-accurate phrases and C-3PO’s yellow eyes. That sort of thing we’ve seen before. However, you can also remove his casing to reveal the gadgetry beneath (inspired by Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), which includes a wire that can be moved to activate glowing red eyes and forbidden Sith secrets.

Clocking in at 3,942 pieces, it features. the ability to fold down the sides and lift off the sails and top deck to check out the detailed interior. Inside you’ll find the the cockpit, prison cell, armory, kitchen and entertainment room equipped with Jabba’s bed and more. Believe it or not, today marks the 70th anniversary of one of the most beloved Christmas movies of all time. Irving Berlin’s White Christmas was released in theaters back on October 14, 1954, and the holiday musical has continued enchanting fans ever since. To celebrate the last seven decades, Paramount has announced that White Christmas has finally received a full 4K restoration and will be released in 4K Ultra HD for the very first time.

White Christmas was the very first film to be released in Paramount’s widescreen VistaVision format. This 4K UHD edition of the film has been restored by Paramount from that original VistaVision negative and is set to be released on November 5th. You can preorder your copy here.

The physical release of White Christmas comes with a 4K UHD and Blu-ray disc, along with a digital copy. The exclusive slipcover for the 4K release is based on the artwork from the original 1954 theatrical poster. White Christmas comes from Casablanca director Michael Curtiz and stars the legendary quartet of Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen. The film is one of the only entries in the all-time Christmas movie canon that hasn’t received the 4K restoration treatment to this point. It’s a Wonderful Life, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and numerous others have received new restorations in recent years.

In addition to the 4K release, White Christmas is also heading back to theaters as part of Fathom’s Big Screen Classics series later this year. You can catch White Christmas on the big screen on December 15th and 16th.

Mortal Kombat is one of the most enduring gaming franchises of all-time, and a new book is up for pre-order that takes a deep dive into its rich and bloody history. Entitled Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory, you’ll explore the visual history of the game over 300 pages. This will include concept sketches, renders, and illustrations alongside exclusive interviews with the development team at NetherRealm Studios, commentary from the author Ian Flynn, and an in-depth look at fan-favorite characters like Scorpion, Raiden, and Liu Kang.

The book is available for preorder at Amazon now priced at $50, though it is likely to see a significant discount before the August 5, 2025 release date. One of the cooler additions here is the Werewolf of Fever Swamp Pop!, which comes in a large plastic case and features the book’s cover as the background to the figure. The werewolf himself sits proudly in front, howling at the moon. Cased Funko Pops make great centerpieces to a themed collection, and this Goosebumps one is a great example of that. 

Disney+ Goosebumps Season 2

Disney recently announced that season 2 of Goosebumps will release in January 10, 2025, with all 8 episodes dropping at once. Now being called Goosebumps: The Vanishing, the second series stars the Emmy award nominated actor David Schwimmer as a former botany professor who becomes wrapped up in science and mystery. 

The logline for the show reads: “Goosebumps: The Vanishing begins with fraternal twins Devin and Cece adjusting to life with their recently divorced dad, Anthony. When the duo discovers a threat stirring, they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Devin, Cece and their friends — Alex, CJ and Frankie — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”

Terrifier 3 is killing it in theaters, and if you want to watch all of the over-the-top blood and gore in the highest quality possible, you’ll want to grab the film on 4K Blu-ray. If you want to take things a step further, a Collector’s Edition Steelbook variant is available with a bloody, black and white Art the Clown cover.

At the time of writing, the Steelbook 4K Blu-ray, standard 4K Blu-ray, and DVD editions are available to pre-order here at Walmart (the October 2025 release date is likely a placeholder until the official date is announced). Funko recently released a collection of Pop figures inspired by the Terrifier series of horror films. Indeed, the wait for Art the Clown Funko Pops is finally over, and there are several options to choose from. If you’re lucky, there’s even a chance to score a Chase. 

The collection includes a Funko Pop of Art the Clown with a knife, a bloody Art, and Art on a bike in the common lineup. There’s also a an Art the Clown wearing sunflower sunglasses exclusive that offers up a chance to randomly score a limited edition bloody Chase figure. New York Comic-Con 2024 kicks off on Thursday, October 17th, and McFarlane Toys is prepping a big week of new releases in the DC Multiverse lineup. This includes a Collector Edition wave of figures with Green Lantern (Simon Baz), Mr. Terrific, Grid (Forever Evil), Lightning Lad, and a Christopher Reeve Superman inspired by Superman: The Movie (pictured below). There will also be a standard wave of DC Multiverse figures inspired by the 2016 film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. UPDATE: A Batman Beyond Gold Label vehicle set will also be available as an exclusive.

There’s always a flurry of horror Blu-ray releases around the Halloween season, but arguably the hottest release for 2024 is the arrival of Wes Craven’s iconic A Nightmare on Elm Street on 4K Blu-ray. The film introduced Robert Englund’s Freddy Krueger to audiences, and is widely regarded as one of the best horror films of all-time. Needless to say, they needed to make a big splash with for the 40th anniversary. That said, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has several options for you to choose from, all of which officially arrive on October 15th.

You can pick up the standard 4K Blu-ray edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street here on Amazon and here at Walmart. Like pretty much every other first-party Nintendo release, Mario & Luigi: Brothership for the Nintendo Switch will come with a couple of different preorder bonuses when it launches. Those of course differ depending on where you’re buying it from, but it seems that at least Target, Best Buy, and GameStop will all have incentives unique from one another. Nintendo knows that its buyers are big on these preorder bonuses, too, so ahead of Mario & Luigi: Brothership‘s November 7th release date, Nintendo has already shown off these physical collectibles.

Unfortunately for many Mario & Luigi: Brothership buyers, one of the best preorder bonuses of all isn’t going to be available to everyone. While the “best” one is of course totally subjective, a French retailer has a preorder bonus up for grabs that’s a whole Steelbook featuring both Mario and Luigi on either side. Tough news for anyone who’s not picking up a copy of the Nintendo Switch game from Micromania, but for everyone else, here’s what you can get by preordering the game:

Best Buy

Like the other preorder bonuses for Mario & Luigi: Brothership, the one for Best Buy is a pretty familiar collectible as far as these things go. Best Buy is offering a shareable pin set featuring — you guessed it — Mario and Luigi so that you can keep one and pass one off to a buddy, or just keep both for yourself.

Best Buy’s deal is live as of now and will be available through the time that the Nintendo Switch game launches. It’s only available online, however, so don’t expect to be getting any of these pin sets in physical Best Buy stores.

GameStop

GameStop’s preorder bonus for Mario & Luigi: Brothership continues the trend of keeping half for yourself, if you’re inclined. In a nearly identical style as the Best Buy one, GameStop’s is an acrylic keychain set instead of a pair of pins.

You can see GameStop’s preorder bonus above, but the listing for the game dos not include anything about the preorder incentive at this time. Presumably, this’ll work like pretty much every other GameStop where you pick up the physical collectible in-store when the game releases, or you’ll get it shipped to you with the game.

Target

Last but not least is Target’s Mario & Luigi: Brothership bonus. It’s not the least by any means since it’s at least different from the other two, but it’s also one that’s a bit iffy in terms of whether or not you’ll actually be able to get one.

Target is giving away a magnetic photo frame set featuring both Mario and Luigi, but you can only get this one in stores on November 7th when the game releases. Target is big on doing that for other games as well, so this is par for the course, but people have shared anecdotes before that showed actually getting the bonus was a tossup since you have to hope the store you visit has the collectibles at all.

What’s Next for The Witcher? 

Netflix announced back in 2021 that it would be bringing us a new animated movie in The Witcher universe, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. Not much is known about the new film, but Netflix recently gave us a sneak peek to get excited about. Directed by Kang Hei Chul, this film is headed up by Studio Mir, who oversaw hits like Avatar: The Last Airbender. The South Korean studio produced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep with Platige Image and Hivemind. Slated for a February 2025 release, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will expand upon the The Witcher-world that Netflix has been building.

Other than that, we currently await the fourth season of Netflix’s live-action The Witcher. Liam Hemsworth, the star who took over for Henry Cavill after his departure, recently said that they’d be filming season 4 and season 5 consecutively, meaning the series will wrap filming definitively in October 2025. Netflix had previously said that season 5 would be the final season of the mainline series, so with that in mind, we nervously await the next addition.

Christopher Nolan’s 2014 film Interstellar is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, and Paramount Home Media is all over it with new 4K Blu-rays for fans and collectors. The main attraction is the 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition set, which is a limited edition release that includes bonus materials like reproductions of five costume patches, five theatrical posters, and a never-before-seen storyboard sequence from the director’s archives. There’s even a new feature dubbed “The Future Is Now: A Look Back at Interstellar”.

Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition are live here on Amazon while they last. However, if you don’t need all of the extras, you can still treat yourself to the Steelbook 4K edition of Interstellar, which is in a limited reprint as a Walmart exclusive. Warner Bros. celebrates Batman’s 85th anniversary this year and for the big eight-five, they’re going all out with the Batman collectibles and collaborations. The latest collab is with the popular phone-case company CASETiFY, a company that’s known for their incredibly strong armor (much like Batman himself). CASETiFY will take iconic images from Batman’s history and pair them with their iPhone, Samsung, and Google device cases. 

Probably the coolest addition is the Bat-Signal Collectible AirPods Case, which resembles the iconic Bat-Signal used by the Gotham City officials to call on the Caped Crusader. Naturally, it lights up. You’ll also want to check out the Batmobile-shaped iPhone Case, which is super chunky and borderline insane. Both take their inspiration from designs featured in the 1989 Tim Burton film starring Michael Keaton.

Batman Gets Star on Walk of Fame 

On September 26, 2024, Batman received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The fictional character was the 2,790th character/person/actor to receive a star, and it was placed next to the stars of Batman’s original TV actor, Adam West, and his co-creator, Bob Kane. Jim Lee, DC’s president, publisher, and chief creative officer, and Anne DePies, DC’s senior vice president and general manager, attended the Batman Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. 

Batman remains one of the most iconic superheroes ever invented, and his long running comic book and film presence will only continue to grow. Previously, Batman had been added to the Guinness World Record books for being the longest-running comic book in history, with his Detective Comics having launched in 1938. 

Batman’s legacy is everlasting and the iconic Caped Crusader should be around for many, many years to come.

Harry Potter TV Series Is Coming to Max

Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they are set to reboot the Harry Potter franchise for the Max streaming service. They describe the upcoming series as follows:

If you thought the ninjas of Konoha teaming up with the Heroes in a Half-Shell of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame was strange, you haven’t seen anything yet. In a shocking official release, Naruto is teaming up with the Transformers for a new crossover that is sure to be one of the strangest team-ups in recent memory. Even though the two franchises couldn’t be more different, that isn’t stopping the Cybertronians from fusing with anime’s most popular ninjas. An official preview has been released by Crunchyroll detailing what this crossover will entail and how the Seventh Hokage will meet up with the Autobots and Decepticons.

When it comes to the Naruto franchise, a good “go-to” when it comes to the recognizability of the shonen series is the sequel, Naruto Shippuden. Taking place after the Seventh Hokage’s initial adventures, Shippuden follows Naruto as a teenager as he fights against the enigmatic band of ninjas known as the Akatsuki and perfects his techniques. It makes sense that this upcoming crossover with the Transformers would focus on this iteration specifically, as Shippuden remains a fan-favorite entry. While the Naruto crossover with TMNT will arrive later this year as a comic book series, the Shippuden/Transformers crossover is planning something a little different for next year.

Ninjas That Are More Than Meets The Eye

Instead of a new anime and/or comic book series smashing the two universes together, two new figures are being created that will take two of Naruto’s most recognizable beasts and turn them into Cybertronians. Both Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox, and Gamakichi, the giant frog who was an ally to both Naruto and Jiraiya, will be made into Transformers and are set to arrive in Spring 2025. In an exclusive from Crunchyroll, the streaming service shared a first look at the figures that will retail for around $54.99 on release. The Future of Cybertron And Konoha

When it comes to the future of both franchises, things are looking bright. For the Transformers, the series recently released a prequel animated film in Transformers ONE. While the film received critical and audience acclaim, Paramount has yet to confirm if a sequel is in the works. Luckily, the Transformers are returning to the big screen thanks to the upcoming live-action crossover, Transformers And G.I. Joe. Long have these two properties had a shared history in the comics and it will be interesting to see how they interact in the upcoming live-action film.

On the Naruto front, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the current manga series that is focusing on the son of the Seventh Hokage. Featuring Boruto Uzumaki as a teenager, the world has turned against the shonen ninja as he attempts to make things right in the face of enemies and allies alike. Unfortunately, no word has been revealed by Studio Pierrot regarding the return of the anime adaptation though the production house had previously confirmed that they were working on four original episodes of the initial Naruto series.

The Naruto x TMNT Crossover

While no toys have been announced for the upcoming Naruto crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a comic book series will arrive on November 13th. The crossover will see the Turtles teaming up with Konoha’s finest, from the initial Naruto series, as they fight against Shredder, the Foot Clan, and perhaps some other surprise villains along the way. Considering both TMNT and Transformers fall under the Paramount banner, it will be interesting to see if Naruto and his fellow ninjas cross over with any other Paramount franchise.

Neve Campbell Returns In Scream 7

While Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega won’t appear in the upcoming sequel, it was confirmed back in March that Neve Campbell would be returning a Sidney Prescott after a pay dispute left her on the sidelines for Scream 6. Scream 7 will arrive in theaters on February 27th, 2026.

Party game enthusiasts are winning today as a new card game from Matthew Inman (creator of The Oatmeal, co-creator of Exploding Kittens, and Showrunner of the new Exploding Kittens Netflix series) has launched. Dubbed Horrible Therapist, the game is said to be a IRL version of The Oatmeal’s popular NSFW comic-generator that delivers a new spin on the comedic “prompt-and-answer” format that players love. What if dark and twisted comedic scenarios happened in your therapist office?

The game starts with the chosen “therapist” choosing a “question” card. Something like “why are you so anxious today?” From there, an “answer” card is played, maybe “I ran over a priest with my car.” Finally, the remaining players choose “treatment” cards, such as “Would you mind texting me photos of that?” or “Oh yeah, I saw that on your Mom’s TikTok.” Putting all the cards together from left to right creates a perfectly hilarious, therapist-centered, comic strip.

“I’ve been in therapy for years,” Inman starts in the comic-style he used to explain his game, “during sessions with my therapist, I often found myself having intrusive thoughts…Despite being horrible and strange, intrusive thoughts are totally normal…So rather than keep these terrible images to myself, I turned them into a card game.”

“Horrible Therapist contains 480 panels of artwork, which can be rearranged into an infinite number of comics.” Inman continues, “This game is basically my neuroses channeled into a horrible, hilarious game.”

The new game is intended for mature audiences only, allowing for a particularly edgy and taboo playing style. If you thought you’d be sitting down for a game of Apples to Apples, you’d be wrong. Horrible Therapists is more in the vein of Cards Against Humanity – wild and absurd combinations can be made and laughed at, just maybe not with your grandma (unless she’s cool). 

It is also worth mentioning that Horrible Therapist makes the perfect party game due to its ease of play and the length of each game. Each game should only take about 15 minutes total and can include up to 8 players. So, next time you’re going to the gang’s get-together, make sure to bring “Horrible Therapist” along with you.

“Eventually, I’d like to tip my hat to some of the people that inspired me a ton, George Perez and John Byrne,” McFarlane said. “But I also know that there’s a whole generation that have come in who those aren’t the guys they grew up with, right? It’s more of people that they’re looking at right now. And whether it’s the interior artist and, or the cover artist, I’ll be sort of looking at what they’re asking for and giving them that.”

If you still have yet to grab your copy of the popular web-slinging videogame, then now might be your chance! Earlier in the week we reported that the PS5 version of the game was on sale, a 29% discount from the original $69.99, bringing the total down to $49.94. At the time of writing, Amazon seems to have ended their deal, but Walmart is still holding out strong with theirs. 

If you happen to miss the offering now, it’s likely this won’t be your last chance for a good deal. With the holidays approaching, PS5 games are sure to go on sale to take advantage of the season. Spider-Man 2 did not go on sale last season, most likely because it had just launched. Now’s still a great time to pick it up and secure it on sale, just in case they decide to keep it at $69.99.

Is Star Wars: Ahsoka getting a second season?

Lucasfilm is moving ahead with Season 2 of Star Wars: Ahsoka, along with a featured movie titled The Mandalorian & Grogu from director Jon Favreau. Part of the announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu was that Ahsoka Season 2 was in active development, though it appears that production won’t start until The Mandalorian & Grogu wraps filming. That would likely push a release date out to 2026. The Disney announcement stated, “The Mandalorian & Grogu will lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature-development slate, including films helmed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni, who is also currently developing Ahsoka Season 2, among those in the works.”

“Because I’ve been writing [Ahsoka Season 2], things have clicked and I have a much better idea about where things are going to go,” Filoni explained to the Happy Sad Confused podcast earlier this year. “I will say, I have an opening I really like quite a bit, I’m very excited about it for that picture. I’m excited about the potential of just doing it … Right now, my focus is clearly on [Ahsoka] as well as the rest of the galaxy and how it’s spinning.”

In April, ComicBook asked Dawson if she had any Ahsoka updates to share:

“Nope,” Dawson replied when asked if she’s read anything from Ahsoka Season 2. “Hugely so,” she said about being excited to continue the series. “I mean, it’s a big deal. It’s huge. I love everyone. It’s an incredible cast. It’s a great group of people and we get more Ahsoka, we get more Sabine. We get more of these characters in a way that – and as much as we’ve watched all of the previous shows and everything – it’s new storytelling, which is just insane to me. So I hope there’s new costumes and I want to know what’s going on.”

Takara Tomy and Capcom have joined forces for a new Transformers crossover with the popular Monster Hunter video game series. The Rathalos Prime / Liolaeous Prime figure features a Rathalos-themed Monster Mode and modified Optimus Prime Robot Mode. In the later, a sword and shield can be equipped which can be combined into an axe. 

First launching in Japan last month, the figure is now available to pre-order in the U.S. here at Entertainment Earth priced at $49.99. Note that U.S. shipping is free at Entertainment Earth on orders over $99, and there’s a flat $7.95 shipping fee on all orders below that threshold. All orders include a mint condition guarantee. From the official description:

Monster Hunter Wilds Release Date

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to debut on Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Pre-orders for physical copies of the game (including a Steelbook edition) are live here on Amazon now. The official description reads:

Will Transformers One Get a Sequel?

It has yet to be announced whether or not Transformers One will get a sequel, but those behind the film are paying very close attention to whether or not its success will warrant another entry. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura teased how that success could continue the story with plans to have more of a character focus coming in the future entries, “Number one, if we’re successful with this [Transformers] movie, we’re going to do a sequel for this. And we already have, I think, the beginnings of a really interesting story for the second one, which is also character-based, the way the first [is],” the producer stated.

Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Reviews

If you’re thinking of grabbing the complete Dragon Ball Z set above, then you’ve probably already got your copy of Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero pre-ordered and ready to go. Without giving any spoilers, the reviews for the game are rolling in and they’re pretty great!

Reviews have dropped for PC, PS5, XBox Series S, and Xbox Series X versions of the game and so far, it boasts an impressive 85 on Metacritic. Hopefully the talk is true, and this new game can blend what was so great about the Budokai Tenkaichi games with new ideas and features that bring the series into the future. If these reviews are to be believed, then this game is the Dragon Ball game we’ve been hoping for.

Sparking! Zero also includes What If? Scenarios for the fans who have always asked “What if Gohan trained instead of studied?” (Sorry, ChiChi, but its been on all of our minds.) Apparently, new scenarios can be played out that are so grand, they can drastically affect the plot of the game. With this new detail, it’s clear that this game will have enough to be happy about.

Naturally, its inspired by the classic 1966 DC tv series starring Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin, and it’s also reasonably priced at $149.99. That’s not bad for a 1822-piece set. Features of the 1966 Batmobile set include a molded windshield, rotatable wheels, authentic decorations and an opening trunk containing the Bat-Computer. Naturally, a retro Batman minifigure is included, though it stands on a platform and does not fit inside the car. There’s isn’t a Robin figure either, which is also disappointing. Still, this is a must-have for collectors.
